Starting point
Growth brought a steady stream of new staff and with them iPhones, Android devices and laptops. Every device was set up by hand, every line-of-business application installed individually. That cost time, and when someone left it was never quite clear which company data had ended up where.
Solution
Apple Business Manager and Intune were set up so iPhones join the company automatically the first time they are switched on. Android devices come in through zero-touch enrolment straight from the mobile provider. Laptops were brought under management. The company’s line-of-business applications, from CAD through PDF tools to Citrix and Power BI, were packaged for automatic deployment and are assigned through groups, licences included. On top of that: configuration profiles, compliance rules and monitoring that flags devices that stand out.
Outcome
New devices set themselves up, applications and updates arrive centrally, and onboarding and offboarding run through group assignments. IT knows at any time which device is on which version. The environment has grown with the company ever since.
