IT that had grown over the years, rebuilt from scratch: servers, network, security and telephony as one piece

The practice’s IT had come together piece by piece over many years: an old server, a flat network with no separation, VPN access without central management and no documentation worth the name. It worked, but nobody could say what would happen if a component failed.

It started with an inventory and a clear target picture. On that basis the environment was rebuilt in three phases: new servers on a modern virtualisation platform with its own backup server, a firewall with separate network zones and centrally managed remote access, a new network and Wi-Fi, and central user management that works together with Microsoft 365. The servers moved to the new platform over a weekend. A cloud phone system, email protection, single sign-on for all services and monitoring followed, and finally the fibre connection.

The practice now runs on infrastructure that will carry it for years: segmented, monitored, with verified backups and fully documented. New staff get their account, extension and remote access through a single process. Support continues.
